Responsibilities

• Receive driver and owner/operator reports and conduct initial inspection to diagnose problems using test drives and test instruments
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, air and hydraulic brake repairs, warranty procedures, steering and suspension, and electrical diagnostics on medium and heavy duty trucks
• Clean, repair, recondition and maintain equipment and components
• Ensure equipment is returned to service in the most efficient and cost-effective manner
• Perform all tasks according to company safety procedures

Requirements

• Apprentice Mechanic with knowledge of shop practices
• Ability to diagnose mechanical problems
• Valid G-class driver’s license with a clear driving record
• Knowledge of truck parts, equipment, and repairs
• High attention to detail and excellent time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 310T and/or 310J licenses
• Knowledge of DOT/MTO rules and regulations
