Responsibilities
- Receive driver and owner/operator reports and conduct initial inspection to diagnose problems using test drives and test instruments
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, air and hydraulic brake repairs, warranty procedures, steering and suspension, and electrical diagnostics on medium and heavy duty trucks
- Clean, repair, recondition and maintain equipment and components
- Ensure equipment is returned to service in the most efficient and cost-effective manner
- Perform all tasks according to company safety procedures
Requirements
- Apprentice Mechanic with knowledge of shop practices
- Ability to diagnose mechanical problems
- Valid G-class driver’s license with a clear driving record
- Knowledge of truck parts, equipment, and repairs
- High attention to detail and excellent time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- 310T and/or 310J licenses
- Knowledge of DOT/MTO rules and regulations
