TRIO Upward Bound - Assistant Director

Responsibilities

• Lead Senior Seminar and college readiness programming to support student success.
• Assist students with college applications, FAFSA completion, and scholarship searches.
• Coordinate academic-year programming, including special sessions and college visits.
• Oversee tutoring services, student registration, and the hiring/supervision of tutors.
• Support Summer Session operations, including academic coaching and dorm life.
• Manage recruitment efforts across target schools to engage first-generation and low-income students.
• Track alumni progress in postsecondary education and maintain communication with graduates.
• Assist with program administration, including budget monitoring, APR reporting, and compliance audits.
• Manage social media and program communications to increase outreach and visibility.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree in education, administration, counseling, or social work preferred).
• Experience working with educational programs and/or similar projects.
• Experience working with disadvantaged youth.
• Proven experience in program development and implementation.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual and bicultural skills (Spanish fluency).
• Experience with SPSS software.
• Experience working with diverse cultures.
