TRIO Success Coach

Responsibilities

• Manage and advise a caseload of 60-70 TRIO SSS participants, providing proactive academic advising.
• Design individual student success plans and document progress against established goals.
• Provide holistic support, including financial aid guidance, resource referrals, and career development.
• Coordinate with campus offices such as Career Development, Student Accessibility, and Financial Literacy to provide co-curricular opportunities.
• Plan, coordinate, and deliver enrichment events and workshops to support student success.
• Assist with recruitment, eligibility screening, and presenting program information to various audiences.
• Maintain accurate program records and assist with data collection for grant reporting requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, Student Affairs, or a related field.
• Experience in undergraduate academic advising or a related student support role.
• Experience supporting student populations similar to TRIO SSS-eligible students (low-income, first-generation, or students with disabilities).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workplace.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects while maintaining high-contact relationships with students.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree.
• Direct experience advising students within TRIO programs.
• Experience applying academic advising approaches and retention best practices in higher education.
• Three or more years of experience in college advising, career services, tutoring, or related departments.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver workshops and training.
