TRIO Assistant Academic Coach

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with TRIO/SSS Program regulations and federal guidelines
• Advise students on academic requirements, career options, and extracurricular opportunities
• Monitor student academic and personal progress and implement intervention strategies
• Establish meaningful relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community resources
• Maintain detailed and comprehensive student records and manage large amounts of data
• Engage with stakeholders to resolve issues and communicate effectively

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
• Experience in advising, mentoring, tutoring, student programming, or student services
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in student personnel services, counseling, education, or a related field
• Experience working directly with diverse student populations and recruitment efforts
• Experience using early alert or advising systems powered by predictive analytics
