Trim Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage trim design processes and provide technical leadership to a team of trim engineers and technicians.
• Lead trim product development, design reviews, and open issues meetings for a seating business unit.
• Act as the primary technical interface for customers regarding trim issues through phases 1-6.
• Ensure trim best practices are applied and that DFMEAs are completed and updated prior to tooling release.
• Design trim patterns aligned with foam interfaces and follow Design for Assembly guidelines.
• Manage the trim engineering budget, resource utilization, and technical training requirements.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Quality teams to ensure successful program execution and launch readiness.
• Drive continuous improvement by leveraging lessons learned and implementing data-driven engineering solutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience in technical leadership and managing engineering teams.
• Deep expertise in trim design and trim cover construction processes.
• Proficiency with 2D CAD tools, specifically Optitex and/or Lectra.
• Strong understanding of DFMEA and risk mitigation processes.
• Demonstrated ability in budget management and resource planning.
• Excellent problem-solving skills using data-driven methodologies.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with global teams and high-level management.
