Traveling Superintendent

Responsibilities

• Direct subcontractors and crews to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality delivery
• Manage daily site operations, including scheduling, inspections, and issue resolution
• Oversee jobsite compliance regarding safety, quality, and cleanliness
• Maintain ongoing communication with internal teams and client-side representatives
• Conduct jobsite walkthroughs with jurisdictional agencies and inspectors
• Lead safety meetings, manage daily reports, and ensure accurate documentation
• Coordinate with vendors and ensure timely equipment delivery
• Support project close-out including punch walks and turnover packages

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in reading plans and technical submittals
• Ability to travel regularly within California
• Capable of climbing ladders and managing jobsite logistics
• Tech-savvy for handling logs, documentation, and submittal tracking
• Experience managing commercial projects through all phases
• Strong knowledge of construction methods such as wood framing and MEP systems
• Willingness to work night shifts or swing schedules as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with open-store remodels or high-traffic tenant spaces
• Background in retail, big-box, or fast-paced commercial environments
• Industry certifications or OSHA safety credentials
