Traveling Field Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews
• Perform quantity calculations and measurements
• Prepare work plans, work packages, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
• Support field surveying, work layout, and as-built data compilation
• Order and schedule material deliveries
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite
• Supervise field operations and subcontractor activities
• Perform material takeoffs and basic engineering calculations
• Maintain project records including RFIs, daily reports, and photographs
• Assist in schedule maintenance and job cost system data entry

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field
• 3+ years of construction field experience
• Experience in engineering and leading other engineers
• Ability to travel and relocate as needed
• Ability to read and analyze engineering plans and contract documents
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in various climates and construction site environments

• Experience in heavy civil construction projects
