Traveling Compliance Specialist

Responsibilities

• Develop schedules for occupancy cycles, unit inspections, and tenant selection
• Enforce occupancy policies in accordance with regulatory agreements
• Implement initial, interim, and annual lease processes
• Coordinate with the compliance team regarding resident subsidy information
• Communicate resident non-compliance regarding rent or house rules
• Organize files for resident-related housing court actions
• Maintain accurate and confidential office records and tenant files
• Prepare resident move-in packages for review and approval
• Provide task supervision for maintenance and on-site security as requested
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents
• Complete housing program requirements including Annual Owner’s Certification
• Execute requirements per Fair Housing, Section 504, and HUD regulations
• Assist staff in developing responses to third-party monitoring agencies
• Provide professional customer service to residents and prospective residents

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Five years of recertification experience in Project-Based Section 8
• Advanced knowledge of HUD policies and procedures
• Proficiency in MS Office, HUD EIV/TRACS, and HUD MOR requirements
• Experience with Yardi and RealPage
• Ability to make regular on-site visits
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• High attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• LIHTC experience
• Affordable Housing certifications (AHM, COS, TaCC, HCCP)
