Travel & Expense Manager

Responsibilities

• Design and execute global travel category strategies, including supplier selection (RFP), onboarding, and lifecycle management for airlines, hotels, and ground transportation.
• Architect negotiation strategies to secure preferential rates and maximize ROI on annual travel spend.
• Govern the global Travel & Expense (T&E) ecosystem, overseeing corporate credit card programs and employee reimbursements for policy and tax compliance.
• Execute internal controls and audits to identify non-compliant spending patterns and implement corrective actions.
• Serve as the Functional Product Owner for travel technologies (e.g., Navan, Brex), managing integrations and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Synthesize T&E data into actionable insights and executive reporting to inform budgetary decisions.
• Optimize workflows to create scalable, automated solutions that reduce friction for travelers and increase back-office efficiency.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in Travel, AP, or accounting.
• Experience with Online Booking Tool (OBT) software such as Navan, Spotnana, or Egencia.
• Experience with expense management systems like Netsuite, Coupa, or Brex.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work remotely from Mexico with approximately 15% travel required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with S2P software (Brex, Zip, LevelPath, or Navan).
• Prior experience working at a fast-growing startup or a public company.
• A genuine passion for the AI industry.
