Travel Consultant

Responsibilities

• Learn and develop skills to sell domestic and international travel products, including air, car, hotel, and rail reservations
• Advise clients on travel requirements, protection plans, and trip advisory information
• Utilize lead management tools to cultivate new business and build a base of repeat customers
• Research and compare supplier rates to provide competitive pricing for members
• Identify cross-sell opportunities to enhance member relationships and meet sales goals
• Maintain accurate documentation of all transactions and secure client information in accordance with privacy laws
• Resolve difficult customer situations with management assistance when necessary

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and time management skills
• Proficiency in Windows, Outlook, Word, and Internet/Intranet navigation

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree
• 1-3 years of experience in a travel agency or sales environment
• Knowledge of travel agency accounting systems or reservation systems like Apollo
• Experience with preferred vendor websites for cruise and tour packages
