About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform independent venipuncture, including managing difficult draws and re-attempts per protocol
- Collect, label, process, package, and ship biospecimens while maintaining chain of custody and temperature controls
- Set up and tear down event sites, prepare kits/supplies, and uphold aseptic technique and biohazard safety
- Assist with recruitment, pre-screening events, and the preparation of outreach materials
- Obtain informed consent and complete visit procedures under the direction of the Clinical Research Coordinator
- Record data accurately in real time on paper or e-source documents
- Perform administrative tasks including requesting medical records, scheduling participant visits, and maintaining site logs
- Maintain adherence to FDA regulations, ICH guidelines, and HIPAA/PHI handling protocols
Requirements
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and verbal)
- 1+ year of recent hands-on phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting
- Current national phlebotomy certification (ASCP, AMT, NHA, or NCCT)
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate rental vehicles for work-related travel
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of ICH-GCP, HIPAA, and medical/research terminology
- Willingness to travel for community events and occasional national deployments
