Transporter

Responsibilities

• Transfer patients between care areas safely, ensuring identity verification and patient privacy.
• Perform EKG tests on in-patients when technicians are unavailable and report results to the RN.
• Provide unit secretary support, including order entry, assembly of patient records, and answering telephones.
• Maintain equipment by cleaning and maintaining gurneys after each use.
• Monitor patient condition during transport and report any changes to the Registered Nurse.
• Assist with hospital errands and participate in emergency code situations as directed.
• Manage patient call lights and coordinate with appropriate personnel to meet patient needs.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience in an acute or skilled nursing environment providing direct patient care.
• BCLS or ACLS Certification.
