Transportation Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily work and safety of Delivery Associates, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and planned routes.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, including DOT and OSHA.
• Manage labor hours, consumable supplies, and work schedules to stay within budget.
• Oversee the utilization of company assets and coordinate necessary vehicle repairs.
• Review delivery functions and productivity reporting to suggest efficiency and cost-reduction measures.
• Enforce company policies regarding food safety, record keeping, and DOT regulations.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to resolve customer or delivery issues.
• Conduct staff selection, development, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions as required.
• Coordinate with the Safety department to conduct training, observations, and accident investigations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1-3 years of related experience and/or training in operations or transportation.
• Working knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software.
• Ability to read, comprehend, write, and speak English.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 100 pounds and pushing/pulling up to 350 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 or 4-year college degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or a similar major.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) meeting company standards.
• HazMat certification.
