Transportation Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of five administrators across two shifts
• Manage all inbound/outbound shipments and yard control at the Distribution Center
• Coordinate with Freight Forwarders, 3PL domestic logistics providers, and internal customer service to ensure proper workflow and shipment prioritization
• Measure the effectiveness of 3PL and Freight Forwarder performance through KPI reporting
• Manage export shipments to the Caribbean and to Custom Bonded Warehouses
• Execute efficient load/unload schedules and manage yard jockey production
• Maintain budgetary responsibility for detention, demurrage, transportation charges, and yard control
• Audit and process ocean and domestic trucking shipment invoices
• Work closely with the Customs Manager to coordinate the timely release and scheduling of containers from the port

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in the transportation and distribution fields
• Advanced proficiency with SAP and Yard Management Systems (YMS)
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills
• Experience working with Freight Forwarders and 3PL providers
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
