Transportation Specialist

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily transportation activities, including shipment scheduling, load consolidation, and route optimization
• Manage carrier performance by monitoring OTD, transit times, and cost efficiency
• Analyze freight spend to identify cost-saving opportunities and support optimization initiatives
• Validate freight invoices and resolve discrepancies against agreed tariffs and contracts
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, trade requirements, and company policies
• Manage shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs paperwork
• Utilize TMS and ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for shipment planning, tracking, and reporting
• Track and report key transportation KPIs using tools like Excel or Power BI

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
• 3–6+ years of experience in transportation, logistics operations, or supply chain execution
• Hands-on experience with TMS and ERP systems (SAP experience is a plus)
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis)
• Solid understanding of various transportation modes including road, rail, ocean, and air
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI
• Experience working directly with 3PL providers and freight forwarders
