Transportation Engineering Market Lead

Responsibilities

• Lead business development efforts in the Sioux Falls region and South Dakota, focusing on SDDOT and local agency clients
• Develop and execute regional business development strategies to grow backlog and secure new work
• Provide day-to-day leadership in the Sioux Falls office, including staff development, hiring, and mentoring
• Serve as Project Manager for transportation projects, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and quality
• Provide technical guidance and QA/QC oversight on project deliverables
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and lead proposals and interviews

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in South Dakota (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
• Minimum 10 years of experience in transportation engineering, traffic, planning, or civil design
• Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing staff
• Proven success in business development and winning work
• Experience working with South Dakota DOT
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MicroStation OpenRoads or similar design tools
• Background in civil/roadway design, traffic engineering, or transportation planning
• Experience working with local municipalities in the Sioux Falls region
