About the Company
The Arc of Greater New Orleans (ArcGNO) is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live meaningful, independent lives. Since 1953, ArcGNO has provided advocacy, education, and support services to individuals and families across the Greater New Orleans area.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe and reliable transportation to passengers
- Ensure all passengers are properly seated and secured in vehicles
- Ensure people in wheelchairs are safely secured
- Provide proper supervision of passengers
- Follow all safety protocols, including reporting accidents and following traffic laws
- Maintain daily trip logs and related paperwork
- Keep vehicles clean and report maintenance or safety issues to supervisors
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean motor vehicle report and ability to be insurable under agency insurance
- Ability to pass DOT physical
- Knowledge of the New Orleans metro and surrounding areas
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working alongside individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities
