Transportation Dispatcher

Responsibilities

• Assign vehicles and drivers to pick up and deliver goods based on customer requests
• Plan and adjust routes to ensure timely deliveries considering traffic and weather
• Maintain constant communication with drivers, customers, and other departments
• Track vehicle and shipment status using computer systems and GPS
• Maintain logs of activities, delivery times, and truck fleet assets
• Address customer inquiries and complaints to ensure high service levels
• Ensure operations comply with company policies and relevant regulations
• Work with local teams to improve logistics processes and reduce freight costs

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with local roads and transportation networks
• Ability to use dispatch software, GPS, and tracking tools
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
• Ability to stand, bend, and work in non-climate-controlled environments
• Tolerance for high noise levels

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a dispatch or logistics role
