About the role
Responsibilities
- Transport residents and care providers to scheduled destinations safely and timely
- Prioritize passenger safety and maintain accountability for all residents during transport
- Assist residents with special needs, including operating wheelchair lifts and securing wheelchairs
- Coordinate and arrange transportation schedules based on resident requests
- Maintain accurate records of transportation requests and completed trips
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and caregivers regarding scheduling
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Operate vehicles in compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Assist with Front Desk operations, package delivery, and other miscellaneous tasks as needed
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of licensed driving experience
- Valid California Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills for scheduling systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate vehicle lifts
- Strong English communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Ability to sit and operate a vehicle for up to six hours per day
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with senior populations
