About the role
Responsibilities
- Transport residents and care providers to scheduled destinations safely and timely
- Assist residents with special needs, including carrying packages and assisting in/out of vehicles
- Operate wheelchair lifts and secure wheelchairs using proper devices
- Arrange transportation schedules and maintain detailed records
- Communicate with residents, families, and caregivers regarding scheduling and resident condition
- Perform vehicle inspections for fuel, oil, and tires, and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Coordinate vehicle service appointments and routine maintenance
- Assist with front desk operational needs and package deliveries
Requirements
- 3 years of experience as a licensed driver
- Valid California Class C license with a clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with senior populations
- Ability to operate various vehicle sizes including vans and buses
- Proficiency in computer skills for scheduler programming
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate wheelchair lifts
- Ability to interpret map directions and communicate effectively in English
