About the role

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and ensure timely delivery of inbound freight using Oracle Transportation Management (OTM).
  • Tender loads, monitor planned shipments, and take ownership of assigned logistics areas.
  • Utilize network capacity tools to determine truck locations and available supplier loads to meet business needs.
  • Communicate shipment details efficiently between plants, suppliers, customers, and carriers to ensure cost-effective, on-time delivery.
  • Resolve transportation, system, import, and customer issues involving internal and external parties.
  • Collaborate with third-party providers including freight forwarders, customs brokers, and export packaging services.
  • Support the Logistics Procurement team with research and cost modeling for carrier rate negotiations.
  • Monitor transportation expense budgets and propose cost-reduction projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of logistics analyst or planning experience in a manufacturing or procurement environment.
  • 1+ year of experience with Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) and ERP systems (such as JDE or SAP).
  • Thorough knowledge of the freight industry, including TL, LTL, Ocean, and parcel modes.
  • Entry-level knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) and Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) regulations.
  • Strong analytical abilities and creative critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or a related field preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Experience with import/export laws, customs, duties, and HazMat regulations.
