Transport Team Leader

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily planning of Company and third-party resources
• Ensure vehicles and drivers receive clear instructions and are fully utilised
• Manage company absence policy and conduct return to work discussions
• Identify training and development needs for team members
• Plan effective utilisation of drivers, vehicles, sub-contractors, and agencies
• Ensure compliance with driver hours regulations and Health & Safety policies
• Liaise with retail departments to optimise fleet utilisation and resolve delivery issues
• Assist in equipment control and customer requirement recording
• Support the Transport Operation Manager with meetings and customer visits
• Ensure all vehicle and trailer services are completed on time

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of FMCG distribution experience
• Experience communicating with drivers
• Demonstrated cost control methodology in a traffic office environment
• Knowledge of the general logistics sector
• Ability to work to challenging deadlines in a pressurised environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of temperature controlled transportation
• Knowledge of warehouse operations
