Transport Specialist- Modelling

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and update the World Bank's suite of transport analytical models and tools for both goods and passenger transport.
• Conduct advanced analyses for transport corridor diagnostics, urban mobility assessments, multimodal connectivity mapping, and freight movement.
• Develop accessibility models to estimate access to jobs, services, markets, and transport infrastructure.
• Support geospatial analysis for investment prioritization and strategic planning at national, regional, and urban scales.
• Integrate transport network data with climate and hazard information to support infrastructure resilience and adaptation planning.
• Prepare briefs, maps, dashboards, and geospatial visualizations to communicate complex findings to stakeholders.
• Develop training materials and deliver training on WBG models and tools.

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering, Economics, Geospatial Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• At least five years of professional experience in transport sector data modeling and analytics.
• Expertise in architecting and leading the development of transport planning and economic analysis models.
• Advanced knowledge of statistical software, GIS tools, and experience working with large, complex datasets.
• Demonstrated experience in transport-related geospatial analysis and programming.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in the economic and financial analysis of transport investments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, specifically for communicating complex data results.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with the World Bank Group or other multilateral/bilateral development partners.
• Experience with specific transport models such as FlowMax or EVMax.
• Proven track record of co-authoring journal or research papers in transport planning and economics.
