Transport Shift Manager

Responsibilities

• Ensure effective running of a busy transport operation and meet Operational KPIs
• Manage driver workforce, resource planning, and legal compliance
• Oversee dispatching, de-briefing, and driver performance management
• Promote company Health & Safety and employment policies
• Administer vehicle and trailer maintenance programmes, including inspections and defect reporting
• Manage recruitment of permanent and temporary staff
• Coordinate investigations, disciplinary hearings, and overtime payments
• Build constructive relationships with Fleet, HR, Planning, and Finance departments

Requirements

• Proven track record in the Transport & Logistics industry
• Demonstrable experience in successful resource management
• Excellent organisation and communication skills
• Strong understanding of Health and Safety processes
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Strong analytical skills to inform decision-making
