Transport Planner

Responsibilities

• Work within the Transport team despatching and controlling the daily plan
• Update and control time critical collections and deliveries with over 120 routes within 24 hours
• Communicate with both warehouse and customer service regarding any delays
• Report problems and deal with issues that come up on shift
• Maintain and exceed agreed KPIs
• Proactively look for continuous improvements
• Make decisions under pressure and to a tight timescale
• Maintain a flexible and adaptable approach to meet business requirements during peak periods

Requirements

• Experience of transport planning
• Good geographical knowledge of the UK
• Knowledge of EU Driver hours and WTD
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
• Experience using a TMS system
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a pressurized environment
• Customer focus on delivery performance
• Commercially and financially astute
• Experience in a retail FMCG environment preferred
