Transport Planner

Responsibilities

• Subcontracting and planning orders out of multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK
• Complete compliance administration to support Transport Manager’s daily and weekly tasks
• Planning daily workload for a fleet of vehicles based and off site
• Dealing with queries and issues via telephone, fax, and email from customers, sub-contract hauliers, and warehousing sites
• Liaising with Traffic and Administration teams to maintain high performance standards
• Maintaining, creating, and updating spreadsheets and databases for customer reports
• Reporting problems and dealing with issues and queries
• Supporting the fleet and driver training team as required
• Completing pre and post de-brief for all driver shifts
• Delivering effective, professional, and timely internal and external communications

Requirements

• High level of transport planning expertise in a busy environment
• Excellent problem solving, analytical, and organisational skills
• Ability to make decisions under pressure and to tight timescales
• Flexible and adaptable approach to meet business requirements during peak periods
• Strong communication skills at all levels
• Ability to identify and suggest process improvements
• Highly motivated with the ability to work in a team or on own initiative

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of SAP, BPCS, or Road Runner
