Transport Operator

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage vehicle utilization and provide clear instructions to drivers and sub-contractors
• Plan utilization of drivers, vehicles, sub-contractors, and agencies across company sites
• Ensure drivers work within safe environments and adhere to driver hours regulations
• Liaise with the planning team to optimize fleet utilization and resolve delivery issues
• Assist in equipment control and ensure customer requirements are met and recorded
• Work with Compliance to ensure vehicle legality and timely data downloads
• Conduct initial investigations into accidents or driver performance issues
• Assist Supervisors in monitoring driving style and safety via Virtual Risk Manager

Requirements

• Experience working within a distribution or transport environment
• Ability to manage workload in a pressurized environment
• Sound geographical knowledge
• Basic understanding of driver hours regulations and Tachograph law
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work unsupervised with initiative
