Transport Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage the transport team to execute traffic plans and meet customer service levels
• Control costs in line with budget and forecast expectations
• Reduce non-contract maintenance and damage spends
• Ensure fleet availability and resource planning
• Motivate and develop the transport team through training and development plans
• Communicate with third-party hauliers regarding vehicle defects
• Approve maintenance cost reports and related invoices
• Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly compliance milestones
• Attend customer review meetings and monitor suppliers
• Implement service improvements and continuous improvement ideas

Requirements

• Proven supervisory experience in a busy transport environment, ideally FMCG
• Leadership and motivational skills with experience building teams
• Commercial knowledge of transport operations and shared user environments
• Strong negotiating, planning, and organizing skills
• High level of numeracy and effective communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a competitive and demanding environment
• National and International CPC qualification is desirable
