Transport Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Pre Brief and Debrief of all drivers
• Controlling equipment through sign in/out procedure to ensure legal compliance
• Planning driver and vehicle resources to achieve delivery/collection times
• Providing 24/7 communication link with Customer Services, planning team, and other depots
• Finding optimal solutions for customer collections
• Providing admin team with collection arrival schedules to maintain KPIs
• Communicating potential failures or changes to original plans
• Controlling and disseminating site Yard check information
• Managing agency requirements on a daily basis
• Logging and reporting all accidents, incidents, and near misses
• Liaising and planning driver meetings and courses
• Adhering to vehicle and trailer service schedules
• Carrying out regular periodic trailer and vehicle census reports

Requirements

• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Planning and organising skills with high level of numeracy
• Excellent communication skills
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
• Ability to effectively prioritise workload to meet deadlines
• Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours
• Significant transport experience in FMCG environment
• Customer service driven
