Transport Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate driver and vehicle resources to meet delivery and collection schedules
• Conduct pre-briefs and debriefs for all drivers
• Manage equipment through sign-in/out procedures to ensure legal compliance
• Act as a communication link between Customer Services, planning, and other depots
• Identify efficient solutions for customer collections and provide accurate schedules
• Communicate potential service failures or deviations from plan in a timely manner
• Manage yard checks and ensure accurate reporting
• Oversee daily agency labour requirements
• Report and log all accidents, incidents, and near misses
• Support driver scheduling, training, and compliance activities
• Monitor vehicle and trailer service schedules and perform regular census checks

Requirements

• Significant transport experience in an FMCG environment
• Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours
• Strong planning, organising, and numeracy skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
