Transport Buyer

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing and purchasing strategies for road, sea, rail, and air freight services
• Identify market opportunities and trends to optimize costs, supplier performance, and service quality
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while driving cost-reduction and performance-improvement initiatives
• Lead supplier sourcing, selection, and contract negotiation activities in line with plant and project requirements
• Ensure achievement of quality, cost, and delivery targets across assigned logistics categories
• Manage the Order-to-Pay process, ensuring compliance with internal purchasing policies
• Monitor supplier performance, contractual commitments, and continuous improvement actions

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or logistics sourcing
• Good understanding of transportation, logistics, and supply chain operations
• Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel knowledge (Pivot Tables, data analysis, reporting)
• Experience with SAP and e-sourcing/tendering platforms is an advantage
• Fluent English
• Experience in commodity management and supplier relationship management
• Excellent negotiation and contract management skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
