About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between internal clients, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure timely and compliant shipments.
- Manage and renew annual USMCA certificates and maintain the associated filing system.
- Ensure compliance of free trade agreement forms with local regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and follow up on urgent shipments to support production needs.
- Prepare shipping documentation for vehicle movements, including customs documentation.
- Contact carriers to resolve issues such as damaged or undelivered goods.
- Manage functional mailboxes to resolve transport and customs requests (e.g., HS codes, missing documents).
- Request transport rates for FTL, LTL, and special transport needs.
- Perform vehicle registration processes with the SAAQ.
- Plan and manage transport and vehicle delivery schedules.
- Produce performance reports and indicators.
- Participate in maintaining MRP systems, databases, and transport/customs policies.
Requirements
- DEC in a related field.
- At least 6 months of relevant experience.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with MRP manufacturing systems.
- Availability for on-call shifts (evenings and weekends) on a rotational basis.
- Ability to make quick decisions and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong teamwork, respect, and diplomacy skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of CBSA and ACE customs programs.
- Knowledge of customs and transport regulations.
