About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform surgical recovery, preservation, packaging, shipping, and disposition of organs and extra vessels for transplantation.
  • Manage the supply chain for organ preservation solutions, supplies, instruments, and equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to all policies and protocols regarding organ preservation and tissue typing material management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records and other required systems.
  • Assist Cardiovascular Perfusion with equipment setup, case activities, and management.
  • Support the Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) program and related patient equipment needs.
  • Mentor and assist in the training and development of less senior staff members.
  • Maintain effective communication with donor hospitals, surgical teams, and transport personnel.

Requirements

  • 1-4 years of experience working in an operating room or emergency room with aseptic technique within the last 5 years.
  • Associate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid state driver's license (REAL ID).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Ability to obtain EMT certification within 9 months of hire.
  • Physical ability to lift, pull, or push objects exceeding 100 pounds and travel via airplane, helicopter, or ambulance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an Allied Health discipline or related science.
  • Experience with UNet, Phoenix, or MiChart information systems.
  • ABTC, EMT-B, ACLS, or CTP certifications.
