Transmission Line Engineer Lead

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of transmission engineers and designers working on overhead line projects
• Oversee development of conceptual designs, routing evaluations, structure type selection, and cost/constructability assessments
• Review and approve detailed design deliverables including plan & profile drawings, structure loading, and conductor specifications
• Utilize industry standard tools such as PLS CADD, PLS Pole/Tower, and SAG10 to guide and validate engineering work
• Coordinate schedules, workloads, and priorities to meet client and project requirements
• Identify and mitigate technical and execution risks to support safe and efficient construction
• Collaborate closely with civil, structural, environmental, and electrical teams
• Provide engineering support during procurement and construction, including responding to RFIs

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or related engineering discipline
• 8-10 years of overhead transmission line design for utility or EPC projects
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD and related transmission design software
• Experience leading engineering teams or serving as a technical lead
• Solid understanding of NESC, ASCE, and utility-specific design standards
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across disciplines
