Transformer Technician

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, disassemble, recondition, and reassemble electrical transformers
• Remove and replace accessories
• Clean and repair parts
• Replace gaskets and seals
• Perform basic MIG welding and metal fabrication
• Assist with basic electrical testing, inventory evaluation, paint, and quality control

Requirements

• Ability to work with hands to fix things and solve problems
• Comfort using online documentation and web-based software
• Strong communication skills (in-person, phone, and email)
• Ability to meet physical requirements for a heavy-equipment environment
• Ability to work in occasional confined spaces
• Proficiency with basic hand tools and following written instructions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with welding or metal fabrication
• Experience with general shop or mechanical skills
• Experience with auto body prep or painting
