Transformation Lead

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end workstream plan for a large-scale Sybase ASE to Oracle database conversion.
• Drive technical conversion activities including schema conversion, data migration, code remediation (T-SQL/PL-SQL), and performance tuning.
• Proactively identify, surface, and resolve technical blockers, dependencies, and risks.
• Organize and chair stakeholder forums, working groups, and cross-team sessions to maintain delivery cadence.
• Manage infrastructure dependencies by working with the Infrastructure Transformation Lead to define requirements for storage, compute, and network.
• Manage stakeholder communications and produce realistic status reports to ensure visibility.

Requirements

• Demonstrable, hands-on delivery of at least one prior large-scale database migration from Sybase ASE to Oracle (or a similarly complex RDBMS-to-RDBMS conversion) within a regulated enterprise environment.
• Deep working knowledge of Sybase ASE and Oracle internals, including data types, concurrency models, T-SQL vs. PL/SQL differences, and performance tuning.
• Proven track record leading conversion workstreams through discovery, migration, parallel runs, and cutover.
• Experience in financial services or other complex, high-availability environments such as capital markets, banking, or insurance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to brief senior stakeholders and chair technical meetings effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with database conversion tooling such as Oracle SQL Developer Migration Workbench, Ispirer, or AWS SCT.
• Exposure to trading, risk, or front-to-back capital-markets platforms.
• Experience working within a dedicated SME model where the Lead owns delivery and the SME owns technical content.
