Transfer Station Operative

Responsibilities

• Accept, physically treat, and dispatch packed waste materials
• Process hazardous products including paints, aerosols, oil, batteries, and cleaning products
• Meet daily operational targets in a busy transfer station environment
• Adhere to strict health and safety policies and procedures
• Perform manual handling duties including sweeping, cleaning spills, sortation, weighing, and repacking
• Maintain general site housekeeping

Requirements

• In-date Counterbalance FLT licence
• Ability to work 45 hours per week on rotating shifts (07:00-16:00 and 09:00-18:00)
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks
• Flexibility to work occasional weekends if required

Preferred Qualifications

• Waste industry experience
• Supervisory experience
• First aid training
• Fire marshal training
• Mobile or static plant maintenance knowledge
