Transcription Technician I

Responsibilities

• Process GC/MS and LC/MS/MS data for drugs of abuse within the Toxicology Division
• Read, understand, and follow written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Identify analyzed samples and verify the accuracy of sequences for each batch
• Conduct the first review of analytical data by each assay SOP
• Transcribe or upload results to the Laboratory Information System (LIS) for final review
• Maintain proper Chain of Custody batch documentation
• Communicate with supervisors and escalate emerging challenges promptly
• Maintain a safe and healthful environment for self and co-workers

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, or a related field
• At least one year of experience working in an analytical laboratory
• Ability to work safely with biological specimens, chemicals, equipment, and instruments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with biological specimens
• Experience with analytical instruments such as LC/MS/MS and/or GC/MS
