About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily planning, supervision, and coordination of the Weld Training Program to ensure cost-effective and engaging delivery.
  • Collaborate with Weld Program Managers, Quality Control, Safety, and Engineering to assess and refine ongoing training needs.
  • Manage training department staff, including conducting periodic performance assessments and providing mentorship.
  • Oversee planning, scoping, cost estimating, and scheduling of training resources, facilities, and logistics.
  • Ensure strict compliance with nuclear safety culture, human performance tools, and CSA standards.
  • Conduct field observations, daily walkdowns, and toolbox talks to validate training effectiveness and safety.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and project schedules regarding training readiness.
  • Manage allocated budgets and ensure all QA and EHS training requirements are met.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a supervisory role, ideally within nuclear or power projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large crews of 50+ employees in complex environments.
  • General understanding of conventional welding processes including SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and Stud welding.
  • Understanding of weld qualification flows, specifically CWB W59 and ASME IX.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and work packages.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Competence in crew planning, resource allocation, and time management.
