Training Specialist (Emergency Response)

Responsibilities

• Design and develop comprehensive emergency response training programs tailored to client needs
• Create training materials including manuals, presentations, and hands-on exercises
• Conduct engaging in-person and virtual training sessions and emergency response drills
• Evaluate training effectiveness and provide detailed reports with improvement recommendations
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
• Collaborate with operational managers to align training with customer requirements
• Support business development through proposals and presentations

Requirements

• Advanced training in Emergency Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in emergency response or safety training
• Familiarity with the Incident Command System (ICS)
• In-depth knowledge of emergency response procedures and protocols
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving abstract
• Ability to travel extensively throughout Alberta
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
• Completion of ICS Level 100, 200, or 300
• Adult Education certification
• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
• Oil and gas industry experience
