About the role
Responsibilities
- Collaborate on selecting screening protocols and preparing associated materials for middle school students.
- Provide instruction to school social workers on the use of screening protocols and demonstrate techniques through direct student screenings.
- Observe social workers during screenings and provide constructive feedback and guidance.
- Model and provide guidance on short-term preventative interventions, including psychoeducation and encouraging follow-up on referrals.
- Participate in data gathering regarding training effectiveness and outcomes.
- Utilize social media to provide relevant information to the public as needed.
- Travel to various school sites to conduct training and screenings in person.
Requirements
- 5+ years of related professional experience, specifically focused on training.
- 2+ years of experience developing and delivering mental health, developmental disability, or addiction-related training programs.
- Strong understanding of evidence-based interventions such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), or parent training.
- Experience working with children, particularly within school settings.
- Demonstrated data management and analysis skills.
- Strong public speaking, facilitation, and event coordination skills.
- Ability to conduct training sessions in person, virtually, and in hybrid formats.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
- Direct experience with SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment).
- Direct experience with Motivational Interviewing (MI).
- Previous leadership experience.
- Clinical experience working with financially disadvantaged communities.
