About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and facilitate continuing education courses focused on mental health, addiction, and developmental disabilities for professionals and community members.
  • Deliver evidence-based training programs, including Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), Narcan training, and Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) presentations.
  • Support major educational events such as the Annual Town Hall on Behavioral Health Services and the Nassau County Behavioral Health Symposium.
  • Collaborate with the Nassau County Office of Mental Health, Chemical Dependency, and Developmental Disabilities Services to expand training opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain training materials in both digital and print formats.
  • Monitor and report data collected from training events, including registration, attendance, and evaluations.
  • Conduct program satisfaction surveys and needs assessments to improve future training initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of professional experience, specifically in training and education.
  • Proven experience in mental health and addiction-related training.
  • Demonstrated data management and analysis skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly to various locations throughout Nassau County.
  • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends as required by event schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctorate in psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of mental health policies, evidence-based interventions, and community resources.
  • Experience conducting in-person, virtual, and hybrid training sessions.
  • Strong public speaking, event coordination, and facilitation skills.
