Trainee Software Developer

Responsibilities

• Help create digital products used by audiences across Australia, including websites, apps, and streaming services
• Learn to write secure, high-quality code under the guidance of senior engineers
• Maintain simple, clear technical notes and instructions for team collaboration
• Adopt modern software engineering workflows and ways of working
• Complete all required learning, training, and orientation activities as part of the 24-month program
• Rotate through Product Engineering to gain hands-on experience across different technical areas

Requirements

• Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander lived experience
• Experience building software using one or more programming languages or tools
• Understanding of common development tools, such as version control and task-tracking tools
• Strong communication skills and the ability to share ideas and ask questions within a team
• Ability to plan work, manage time, and prioritise tasks effectively
• A thoughtful and practical approach to problem-solving
