Train Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and validate technical architecture at the locomotive/train level to meet client requirements and railway standards
• Manage technical requirements including specifications, traceability, and validation
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, software) and suppliers to ensure project coherence
• Participate in technical reviews and decision-making to resolve complex problems
• Interface with component suppliers and internal departments like Purchasing and Manufacturing
• Participate in initial locomotive testing in factories or on-site at client tracks
• Integrate functional safety and reliability principles (RAMS) into the design process

Requirements

• Engineering degree in generalist, mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering
• Minimum 3 years of experience in systems engineering (railway, automotive, or aerospace preferred)
• Knowledge of system architecture and requirements management
• Foundational knowledge in mechanics, electricity/electronics, batteries, and software functional description
• Proficiency in system modeling tools such as DOORS or SysML
• Proficiency in CAD software like CATIA or SolidWorks
• Mandatory technical English proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of railway standards such as EN 50126 or EN 50155
• Proficiency in German or Spanish
