About the role

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all transport activities are conducted safely and in compliance with government regulations, Canadian Railway Operating Rules (CROR), and special instructions.
  • Coordinate and supervise locomotive engineers and train conductors to maintain high technical standards and service quality.
  • Manage train movements to ensure they are timely, efficient, and cost-effective across the network.
  • Report and investigate accidents, derailments, service disruptions, customer complaints, and rule violations.
  • Monitor the performance of locomotive mechanics and train drivers on board.
  • Interface with host railway control centers and operating agents to coordinate daily operations and correct operational deviations.

Requirements

  • College diploma in administration or engineering.
  • Valid Locomotive Engineer certification.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian railway operating regulations.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the railway industry (as an engineer, conductor, supervisor, or coordinator).
  • At least 5 years of experience in crew management.
  • Fluency in French (written and oral); English is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
