Train Driver

Responsibilities

• Drive locomotives and operate trains safely and efficiently in accordance with rail safety management systems and operating protocols
• Fulfill train operations requirements in a timely, safe, and punctual manner
• Participate in safety meetings, training, briefing sessions, and toolbox talks
• Comply with and promote the Qube Rail Safety Management System
• Conduct shunting and train inspections in accordance with company procedures
• Mentor other Train Drivers and Trainee drivers in train handling and fuel conservation strategies
• Notify relevant persons of all category A and B rail safety incidents
• Maintain availability to work across a 24/7 shift work roster

Requirements

• TLI42615 Certificate IV in Train Driving (or relevant units, with a willingness to work towards the current qualification)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
• Current Driver's Licence with a recent clean driving history
• Clear and concise written and oral communication skills
• Knowledge of safe working requirements on mainlines, terminals, and sidings
• Ability to work collaboratively in a safety-critical environment
