Train Crew

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and timely movement of customers' freight through various railroad operations
• Inspect equipment, locomotives, and rail cars to ensure they are safe for use
• Perform tasks including coupling equipment, aligning drawbars, and operating remote control locomotives
• Apply and release hand brakes and ride rail cars as required
• Communicate effectively with crews, yard controllers, and dispatchers via radio or hand signals
• Maintain accurate written and electronic documentation
• Comply with all railroad rules, regulations, and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) standards

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the past 36 months
• Ability to successfully complete an English proficiency assessment
• Ability to pass a Physical Ability Test (PAT) and medical evaluation
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry objects weighing up to 85 lbs
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and on irregular schedules, including on-call 24/7

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on 2nd or 3rd shifts
• Experience working outdoors in diverse weather conditions
• Experience working with or around heavy equipment in motion
• Experience working in confined spaces or at different heights
