Trailer Mechanic/Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite repairs on various equipment including trailers, chassis, converters, and reefers
• Inspect and diagnose issues quickly to perform immediate repairs
• Perform general trailer repairs on air brakes and electrical components
• Conduct and sign off on annual safety inspections
• Document all parts used and input repair details (complaint, cause, and correction) into the maintenance software system
• Notify the Lead Hand of any additional repairs required
• Participate in formal and informal training sessions

Requirements

• Provincial Ontario 310J Certification of Qualification (Truck or Trailer) or corresponding interprovincial designation
• Registered 310J with Skilled Trades Ontario
• Knowledge of reefers, air brakes, and electrical diagnostics
• Safety-minded approach to all tasks
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to use current technology to ensure vehicle safety and performance

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior work experience as a Technician on trailers, chassis, converters, or reefers
• Mobile repair experience
• Steel or aluminum welding experience (Stick/Mig)
• Valid G-class driver’s license
