Traffic Lead Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of traffic engineers in a Seller/Doer capacity, focusing on business development and growing the traffic engineering practice in Georgia.
• Supervise traffic engineering design, analysis, and modeling tasks for road and highway projects.
• Serve as the Engineer of Record for traffic-related deliverables and plans.
• Manage staff workloads, career planning, and individual development for the traffic engineering team.
• Coordinate project backlogs, schedules, budgets, and deadlines to ensure compliance with scope.
• Support pursuits and opportunities with GDOT and other municipal or transit agencies.
• Participate in proposal development, including strategizing, storyboarding, and writing.
• Engage with industry organizations such as ACEC, GPTQ, or ITE to represent the company.

Requirements

• 4-year degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in traffic engineering and analysis.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.
• Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification is required.
• Proven experience interfacing with Georgia DOT or similar state DOT representatives.
• Proficiency with traffic analysis and design software including Synchro, Vissim, and MicroStation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with alternative delivery and design-build projects.
• Demonstrated business development experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
